It has been SUCH a long summer!!! It was all great fun and all, but so little time to paint. And anyone who says that being a stay at home mom is boring, should try being me!!! I seem to only get one day a week to paint so far, and that's going to have to change shortly, because I will be doing 2 art shows this fall!!! I am volunteering 1 full day, and one part day at my kids' school, and being an advocate for art program at their school as well. It's a full time job itself, let alone taking care of a stray kitty that adopted us, my own pets, the "flip-a-car" side job we have going on, and anything else that comes up!!
That all being said, I HAVE made progress on my favorite painting, "Thunder on the Mountain"..... now this is a fuzzy picture, I will change it later. but as you can see, it's not a fast pic to paint! it's 24x36. you can feel the ground rumbling as the horses thunder by... it's rather impressive to be there, and hopefully I can capture a bit of that in this painting!!! the palomino and the bay/chestnut with the blaze still need attention, and then touchups of course..... it's coming along, and I hope to finish in the next couple of weeks! I have more ideas that need to be brought to canvas, so I better get a good system going here shortly!! And, perhaps another easel for the studio? hmmm!!!!
